  • My college plans = /

Sooo for the past week me and my  mom have been talkin about this whole college thing. And alot of things have came up.. For example, there is no way in HELL! i am going to a 4 year college. I mean yes I want to be successful blah blah blah. But im all about moving out, doing my own thing and being more independent then what I am right now.  So I was trying to explain to mother dearest that I want  to a to year college AWAY from home!  somewhere like florida or Cali with warm climate all the time etc.. But of course my mother doesnt agree because she feels that I should stay here in New York because if I go away for college Finical Aid and wont pay for me to go to college. So she wants me to stay under HER ROOF for 2 years save up and then leave.SOOOOO I came to the conclusion that she is right. So the schools im looking @ are Kingsborough community college in brooklyn, Institute of Design and Construction in Brooklyn, Fashion Instute of technology [ Downtown manhattan, a walkin distance from my house] and Pace university. Which im trying to major in Interior design or Journalism =P.  But forreal this looking @ colleges and thinking about colleges you want to go to shit is hard. Hopefully I get a Scholarship or something to pay for the tution becuase im really not tryna fuck with loans... UGH!

    - ohh and to all of yall I miss yall ALOT!

Hey Friendtasia! Thanks for friending me. =)

I went to college in FL and loved it but I think it's better to go to school in the New York City area. You have a lot more internship and job opportunities up here. In FL sometimes it was really hard to get good job experience for me and my friends. I majored in pr/journalism and every summer I saw there were tons of jobs open up here but I couldn't get to NYC b/c I didn't have the money. In NYC you have every major news outlet right in your backyard also all the big interior design firms are here. I think you're making the right decision staying here. You can always move to FL or Cali after school. Getting good experience while your in school will pay off big time when you decide to leave and start being independent.

Goodluck with the financial aid and scholarships!
